Teenagers are loosing their brains by getting inspired from fictional characters and allowing imagination to rule their real lives. Recently, a young boy was accused of suffocating his brother to death and he quoted that the main protagonist of Dexter inspired this regrettable act.

The miserable boy is named as Andrew Conley and he was arrested on the charges of killing his younger brother, Conner Conley by strangulating him till life senses left his innocent body. The deplorable act was committed within their house situated in Indiana.

We all know very well that Dexter is based on the series of novels written by Jeff Lindsay. The novel has earned 2005 Dilys Award. Screenwriter James Manos, Jr. brought it to TV screen writing the pilot episode of the series. Being a fan of Dexter TV show, who has also read the novels which the series is derived from, I sometime wonder over the fact how much similarity Dexter the series , considering the recent seasons of the series, has with its origin. And, I would have to say that the show has deviated considerably from its source.

During the first and second season of Dexter, it was seen that Dexter TV show followed the books in the best possible way. Plotlines and incidents were kept close to the ones described and mentioned in the books. But the third season of Dexter had little common with the third book in the series and the writers tried to implement their own concepts rather than going along with stories of the novels. As of now, Dexter has announced fourth and fifth season and both the seasons would be having 12 episodes each. Rumors are that the upcoming seasons of Dexter would follow the trend set by the third season of the show, which would mean deviation from the original source.

Getting into the depth of the issue made me aware that actually, it’s not very easy to translate a novel into a TV show. In case of novels, characters grow up so speedily but you can’t do, and viewers never like to see, so in case of TV shows’ seasons. Things must go in a sequence on TV otherwise it starts becoming messy. And, also, you may know, if you’ve read the 3^rd book of the series, it gets a little weird and the creators might not have plans to show such stuff on the TV.

I’ve been watching Dexter since the series opener so I know very well that it never gives the viewer any chance to get bored. This season of Dexter has been wrapped up on Sunday 14 December, 2008 but boy what an explosive finale it was and I mean it was literally an explosive episode. My jaw fell on my knees when Lila blew out that cabin where Sgt. Doakes was trapped. How could that happen? I mean he has been on the show from the very beginning and how could they just blow him to smithereens like that. But then so much was happening on the show like the fire set by Dexter’s psychotic girl friend Lila from which he could barely save himself unscathed so that there was no time to consider why things happened the way they did.

But, later on I could see that death of Sgt Doakes was inevitable. Alright, I concede that it was not I but my friend who pointed it out to me that Doakes had to die in order to keep the secret of Dexter safe as he had come to know about the psychopathic tendencies of Dexter. I was just trying to sound bright, but I guess even you would have figured it out by now. We all know that Dexter couldn’t possibly kill him as he was innocent and it’s against Dexter’s code to kill innocent people. Ok guys, I know it was Harry’s code but now it is Dexter’s code and it was impossible to keep telling the story with Doakes knowing the identity of the killer. So, now we can wait in peace knowing that Dexter’s secret is safe as we wait for the next season and watch online or download the previous episodes of Dexter from here.

All you Dexter fans, here’s a reason for you to smile. Recently, the Show time has renewed your favorite series for not one but two seasons. Now, isn’t that a good news. The series is currently running into its season 3 with seven episodes down and the good thing is that no one can stop the series until the fifth season of the series is aired. Anyone who was not even interested in watching the show, I am sure would have went back and seen the show. Recently at comic con Dexter’s trailers have been released and Michael.C.Hall and Jimmy Smits joined the penal. Throwing some light on the upcoming episodes was obvious. Micheal was pretty excited for getting Smits as a partner. What they disclosed about the third season made me very excited for its arrival in the end of September.

The entire third season will be about Dexter’s changing attitudes, and simultaneously he becomes mature man. The season three will be less violent and more romantic. You will find enough spice in the life of a cop. His love affair with Rita will reach its peak, and you will be able to watch many steamy scenes between the two. Obviously if our hero will remain busy in romancing with his girlfriend then he will not get time to transform into the psychopath killer and may be his brain will get good vibrations sent by cupid so his instincts to kill become dormant.

The other thing which will change is Dexter will not follow the instructions of his father anymore and will choose his own way to handle things. So the series now has much more interesting stuff. But this is not good to lure somebody much before time and then leave one waiting. Pilot of the season is one month away and these guys have made me eager to watch the show. So now I’ll satisfy my thirst for Dexter by watching the previous blood spattered episodes. You know, Dexter and Smits look cool together and as far as I guess they will remain the main attraction of the new season. I am now desperate to watch the lover Dexter instead of killer Dexter. But I am afraid of one thing if Dexter loses his murderous instinct, it would surely affect the show’s ratings?

Recently my friends and I went for a small but adventurous camping trip. We reached a forest and camped there. Thank God! The area did not have any killer animals. We only found some squirrels and rabbits over there. At night, sky was looked beautiful like a black sheet spotted with glitters and one could see many more stars dark in the dark forest than the city full of electric lights. As I knew that forest would get dark early in the evening and we don’t sleep early. So I carried my laptop with me. In the dark and calm night of forest I downloaded the thrilling show ‘Dexter’. I watched it regularly when it was on air and I liked the season 2 more than the season 1. So I downloaded the whole second season from here. Dexter tried to attract Rita’s attention but she suspected him to be involved in the murder of someone close to her in ‘Waiting to Exhale‘. Then my eyes stopped at the name of an episode because it best suited the situation I was in. ‘That Night; A Forest grew‘. Don’t laugh. See it was predicted much ahead that someday I’ll spend a night in forest and watch Dexter show. Anyways the episode was very thrilling, as Doakes reaches closer to the Dexter’s past life and his secrets. Do watch this episode and you won’t regret doing so.

Besides this, in the episode ‘The dark defender‘, Dexter comes to know about his mother’s murderer, whom he had seen when he was a boy. Later, in the episode “Morning comes” he revisits his mother’s killer. Over all I found the second season rocking and enough to make somebody curious for the third season and that’s why it compelled me to write on it.

I like the kind of show Dexter is, as it carries interesting mysteries and especially when the facts are disclosed to the viewers, whereas characters remain oblivious to them.

You know, I am an absolute TV shows freak, but yeah I don’t watch every show, don’t have that much time. But a few selected shows meet my choice criteria. These are dramas like, sci-fi, crime and the weird ones. Dexter is one of those shows. I am still waiting for new episodes of Dexter, as it is about one month away. But till then, I am passing time watching its previous episodes, as well as I keep an eye on all the latest news about this show. Today I was going through TV news, and thought I should share this with the other regulars of this site. The news is Dexter has finally got a nomination in Emmy awards, which it was thriving for since its beginning. But its competitors were so strong that it never got a chance. But this time Michael.C.Hall has been nominated for the Emmy Award.

Michael C Hall has not been nominated for Emmy Awards for the first time. He bagged a nomination once for his role as David Fisher in Six Feet Under. But his character as Dexter has got nominated for the Emmy for the first time. Dexter show has a very good concept and Michael has played his role with lots of conviction. I do wonder some time why it did not make to the list of nominees before. Anyways’ all is well that ends well. Finally it got it. I can only pray that he wins this time and put an Emmy in the Dexter’s baggage.

I think Dexter’s character deserves the same as he is playing it in dual form, one as a forensic expert in Miami police and the other as a psyche killer. We are all waiting for Dexter Morgan to come back and again show his master techniques of killings. So now give me some space as I am going to watch Dexter’s first season again. Catch you later.

Gloomy nights, thrilling sounds and then a sudden bang and one more pool of blood and then the camera focus the serial killer. The killer who kills for a cause and who has found a strange way to put all of his negative energy in something positive. You guys understood what I am talking about, yes it is Dexter. Who else will you find such thrilling scenes and storyline? Well so the goody- goody news of the month is Dexter is coming back with its third season. The most amazing thing which will make it most awaited show for you is that Dexter’s going to get a new buddy. The new buddy with Dexter is Jimmy Smits. Everybody is familiar with the Victor Sifuentes of the L.A. Law.

Smits will portray Miguel Prado, an ambitious, charismatic assistant district attorney who comes from one of the Miami’s most politically powerful and beloved families. Dexter, (Michael.C. Hall) a blood-spatter expert for the Miami Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer, will join forces with Prado, who has risen in the ranks because of his aggressive stance against crime, in the pursuit of a murderer, who affects both of their lives directly. So get ready for the extra dose of thrill.

Smits will be featured in the ten episodes out of twelve of the third season. Smits has a very good track record in the acting field. He is eleven times Emmy awards nominee and won the award in 1990 for his role in L.A.Law. Besides this he is four times Golden Globe nominee and won once for his role in ‘NYPD Blue’ in 1999. In 2005 too he won the Images Foundation awards. Along with this he is a bright film actor too. So I hope now our Dexter show has more chances to become an Emmy award nominee or let’s hope for more, may be the winner of the award for its new season. We will be able to catch the thrill in this fall.

So, Dexter season 2 ends here. Dexter is such a terrific show but series finale was not that terrific. I think that it could have been better.

Dramatically, there was a pretty dissatisfactory turn of events. I started watching this episode assuming that Doakes will die. And, I was right, why, you can understand if you’ve watched previous episode from series. It was impossible to run series with him alive.

For me, the best scene on the episode was when Dexter shows up at Lila’s to kill her, only for Deb to arrive at the same time. Lila starts discovering what has been happening and is just about to open Dexter’s bag of murder weapons in front of Deb. Oh! That scene was really full of suspense. I was sure at that time that before series ends, Deb would find out the reality about her brother.

That’s not what happened however, as Lila left, only to kidnap Astor and Cody, after confirming Dexter’s intentions towards her. Dexter comes to their rescue, Lila sets her loft on fire to burn them all inside. Dexter plays a hero and saves them. It was disheartening to see needy Deb as she kept trying to force a relationship with Lundy. Episode ends with Rita who seems cool with her kids and realizes that it’s right time for her to freak. Astor and Cody sure were in good spirits considering they just went through an experience that should have left them in therapy for years. Meanwhile download the earlier season here.

So, this was the season’s finale. Waiting for 3^rd season. It’s not declared yet. But I am sure that there is going to be season 3 which will deal with all issues left unsolved during season 2 and I’m curious to see what happens next to Miami’s most prolific serial killer.
