We all know very well that Dexter is based on the series of novels written by Jeff Lindsay. The novel has earned 2005 Dilys Award. Screenwriter James Manos, Jr. brought it to TV screen writing the pilot episode of the series. Being a fan of Dexter TV show, who has also read the novels which the series is derived from, I sometime wonder over the fact how much similarity Dexter the series , considering the recent seasons of the series, has with its origin. And, I would have to say that the show has deviated considerably from its source.

During the first and second season of Dexter, it was seen that Dexter TV show followed the books in the best possible way. Plotlines and incidents were kept close to the ones described and mentioned in the books. But the third season of Dexter had little common with the third book in the series and the writers tried to implement their own concepts rather than going along with stories of the novels. As of now, Dexter has announced fourth and fifth season and both the seasons would be having 12 episodes each. Rumors are that the upcoming seasons of Dexter would follow the trend set by the third season of the show, which would mean deviation from the original source.

Getting into the depth of the issue made me aware that actually, it’s not very easy to translate a novel into a TV show. In case of novels, characters grow up so speedily but you can’t do, and viewers never like to see, so in case of TV shows’ seasons. Things must go in a sequence on TV otherwise it starts becoming messy. And, also, you may know, if you’ve read the 3^rd book of the series, it gets a little weird and the creators might not have plans to show such stuff on the TV.

Anyways, whatever it’s like, we all are fans of Dexter TV show and are desperately waiting for the fourth season of the series. All previous Dexter episodes are available here to download or watch online, you can go ahead right now.

As any TV show airs its any season finale, fans start thinking about the next season in the row. And, as of now, it’s the time to think about the fourth season of Dexter, the popular Showtime Network series. Season 3 finale ‘Do You Take Dexter Morgan’ was aired in the mid of December and even before its end; two more seasons of series were announced. The decision of the network mollified us while assuring the future the of our very favorite TV show ‘Dexter’. Network confirmed fourth and fifth seasons of series in last October.

As per the latest news coming out, Dexter season 4 would commence production during this spring and would premiere in the same time period, as the series did in the case of previous seasons. Probability is that season 4 would start airings in the fall of 2009. Fifth season would follow the end of the fourth season of series. Both of the seasons, would contain twelve episodes each. Well, no information about the storyline of both seasons yet. But, it’s very apparent that fourth season of series would continue the stuff from where it was left by the third season of series.

Since its premiere on Showtime Network, Dexter has been doing well. Series’ premise of chronicling the dual life of a serial killer helps it to stay out of the crowd of silly dramas which keep on stretching the stuff without any need. I’ve been watching Dexter since the series opener so I know very well that it never gives the viewer any chance to get bored. In fact, all episodes, all scenes actually, force you to sit and watch it till the end because curiosity never ends on ‘Dexter’.

Well, as of now, every fan of Dexter has set its eyes on the season 4 of series… a long wait is waiting for us to go though. I’ve my own plans to spend this time period. I’d watch all episodes of Dexter once again, starting from Season 1 to Season 3. How? I’ve downloaded all of those from here! You too can… its very easy.

This season of Dexter has been wrapped up on Sunday 14 December, 2008 but boy what an explosive finale it was and I mean it was literally an explosive episode. My jaw fell on my knees when Lila blew out that cabin where Sgt. Doakes was trapped. How could that happen? I mean he has been on the show from the very beginning and how could they just blow him to smithereens like that. But then so much was happening on the show like the fire set by Dexter’s psychotic girl friend Lila from which he could barely save himself unscathed so that there was no time to consider why things happened the way they did.

But, later on I could see that death of Sgt Doakes was inevitable. Alright, I concede that it was not I but my friend who pointed it out to me that Doakes had to die in order to keep the secret of Dexter safe as he had come to know about the psychopathic tendencies of Dexter. I was just trying to sound bright, but I guess even you would have figured it out by now. We all know that Dexter couldn’t possibly kill him as he was innocent and it’s against Dexter’s code to kill innocent people. Ok guys, I know it was Harry’s code but now it is Dexter’s code and it was impossible to keep telling the story with Doakes knowing the identity of the killer. So, now we can wait in peace knowing that Dexter’s secret is safe as we wait for the next season and watch online or download the previous episodes of Dexter from here.

All you Dexter fans, here’s a reason for you to smile. Recently, the Show time has renewed your favorite series for not one but two seasons. Now, isn’t that a good news. The series is currently running into its season 3 with seven episodes down and the good thing is that no one can stop the series until the fifth season of the series is aired. The fans can relax down and watch their much loved, Dexter, the loveable serial killer, for two more runs.

Just like the previous three seasons of the series, the fourth and fifth season will also have twelve episodes each. Though no clear dates are available for the airing of the fourth season, but what we have heard is that they will start the production in spring, the coming year. So, from this we can presume that we will be able to watch the fourth season somewhere around this time next year, continuing the league of releasing a season per year.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I really like watching the series about the Miami based serial killer Dexter Morgan. Personally, I really like watching Michael C. Hall in his serial killer role and I am really happy that I can watch him for two more seasons. And, I feel that the Showtime has truly taken a wise decision by renewing the three times, Emmy nominated series. I am sure, there are many people like me who are happy with the channel’s this decision. I hope that there are people who agree with me.

The makers of the show, ‘Dexter’, very well, know what they need to do, when it comes to the publicity of the show. Every time they come up with some new and unique ways for the promotion of the show. Remember the last time when they came up with that viral news clip, in which you could insert people’s names as the Killer’s next victim? Well, it was definitely a good marketing trick, which also raised the TRP of the show.

This time they are again up with something new to promote the next season of their show. To launch the season 3 of the well known ‘serial killer’ TV show ‘Dexter’ by Showtime, they have this time build fake pop-up news stands in heavily trafficked public spaces in cities across America including New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. These fake stands featured the show’s star Michael C Hall on mock covers of high-profile magazines like Rolling Stone, The New Yorker and GQ. Snacks wrapped in suitably blood-red packaging also figured on the stands. The red stands were very prominent in the market place and for sure they were noticed by every person passing by.

Now, this definitely is a very interesting way to promote the new season of the show and to attract people’s attention. Anyone who was not even interested in watching the show, I am sure would have went back and seen the show. But, I personally feel that the series is already a hit and that even without publicity, it rocks.

Dexter is a show which has violence not only in its theme but also in character. But you’ll be surprised to know that in the upcoming season of Dexter, our hero will be very different. Recently at comic con Dexter’s trailers have been released and Michael.C.Hall and Jimmy Smits joined the penal. Throwing some light on the upcoming episodes was obvious. Micheal was pretty excited for getting Smits as a partner. What they disclosed about the third season made me very excited for its arrival in the end of September.

The entire third season will be about Dexter’s changing attitudes, and simultaneously he becomes mature man. The season three will be less violent and more romantic. You will find enough spice in the life of a cop. His love affair with Rita will reach its peak, and you will be able to watch many steamy scenes between the two. Obviously if our hero will remain busy in romancing with his girlfriend then he will not get time to transform into the psychopath killer and may be his brain will get good vibrations sent by cupid so his instincts to kill become dormant.

The other thing which will change is Dexter will not follow the instructions of his father anymore and will choose his own way to handle things. So the series now has much more interesting stuff. But this is not good to lure somebody much before time and then leave one waiting. Pilot of the season is one month away and these guys have made me eager to watch the show. So now I’ll satisfy my thirst for Dexter by watching the previous blood spattered episodes. You know, Dexter and Smits look cool together and as far as I guess they will remain the main attraction of the new season. I am now desperate to watch the lover Dexter instead of killer Dexter. But I am afraid of one thing if Dexter loses his murderous instinct, it would surely affect the show’s ratings?

Recently my friends and I went for a small but adventurous camping trip. We reached a forest and camped there. Thank God! The area did not have any killer animals. We only found some squirrels and rabbits over there. At night, sky was looked beautiful like a black sheet spotted with glitters and one could see many more stars dark in the dark forest than the city full of electric lights. As I knew that forest would get dark early in the evening and we don’t sleep early. So I carried my laptop with me. In the dark and calm night of forest I downloaded the thrilling show ‘Dexter’. I watched it regularly when it was on air and I liked the season 2 more than the season 1. So I downloaded the whole second season from here. I liked its initial episodes as Dexter’s story took many dramatic turns in those episodes.

Dexter tried to attract Rita’s attention but she suspected him to be involved in the murder of someone close to her in ‘Waiting to Exhale‘. Then my eyes stopped at the name of an episode because it best suited the situation I was in. ‘That Night; A Forest grew‘. Don’t laugh. See it was predicted much ahead that someday I’ll spend a night in forest and watch Dexter show. Anyways the episode was very thrilling, as Doakes reaches closer to the Dexter’s past life and his secrets. Do watch this episode and you won’t regret doing so.

Besides this, in the episode ‘The dark defender‘, Dexter comes to know about his mother’s murderer, whom he had seen when he was a boy. Later, in the episode “Morning comes” he revisits his mother’s killer. Over all I found the second season rocking and enough to make somebody curious for the third season and that’s why it compelled me to write on it.

I like the kind of show Dexter is, as it carries interesting mysteries and especially when the facts are disclosed to the viewers, whereas characters remain oblivious to them.

You know, I am an absolute TV shows freak, but yeah I don’t watch every show, don’t have that much time. But a few selected shows meet my choice criteria. These are dramas like, sci-fi, crime and the weird ones. Dexter is one of those shows. I am still waiting for new episodes of Dexter, as it is about one month away. But till then, I am passing time watching its previous episodes, as well as I keep an eye on all the latest news about this show. Today I was going through TV news, and thought I should share this with the other regulars of this site. The news is Dexter has finally got a nomination in Emmy awards, which it was thriving for since its beginning. But its competitors were so strong that it never got a chance. But this time Michael.C.Hall has been nominated for the Emmy Award.

Michael C Hall has not been nominated for Emmy Awards for the first time. He bagged a nomination once for his role as David Fisher in Six Feet Under. But his character as Dexter has got nominated for the Emmy for the first time. Dexter show has a very good concept and Michael has played his role with lots of conviction. I do wonder some time why it did not make to the list of nominees before. Anyways’ all is well that ends well. Finally it got it. I can only pray that he wins this time and put an Emmy in the Dexter’s baggage.

I think Dexter’s character deserves the same as he is playing it in dual form, one as a forensic expert in Miami police and the other as a psyche killer. We are all waiting for Dexter Morgan to come back and again show his master techniques of killings. So now give me some space as I am going to watch Dexter’s first season again. Catch you later.

Gloomy nights, thrilling sounds and then a sudden bang and one more pool of blood and then the camera focus the serial killer. The killer who kills for a cause and who has found a strange way to put all of his negative energy in something positive. You guys understood what I am talking about, yes it is Dexter. Who else will you find such thrilling scenes and storyline? Well so the goody- goody news of the month is Dexter is coming back with its third season. The most amazing thing which will make it most awaited show for you is that Dexter’s going to get a new buddy. The new buddy with Dexter is Jimmy Smits. Everybody is familiar with the Victor Sifuentes of the L.A. Law.

Smits will portray Miguel Prado, an ambitious, charismatic assistant district attorney who comes from one of the Miami’s most politically powerful and beloved families. Dexter, (Michael.C. Hall) a blood-spatter expert for the Miami Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer, will join forces with Prado, who has risen in the ranks because of his aggressive stance against crime, in the pursuit of a murderer, who affects both of their lives directly. So get ready for the extra dose of thrill.

Smits will be featured in the ten episodes out of twelve of the third season. Smits has a very good track record in the acting field. He is eleven times Emmy awards nominee and won the award in 1990 for his role in L.A.Law. Besides this he is four times Golden Globe nominee and won once for his role in ‘NYPD Blue’ in 1999. In 2005 too he won the Images Foundation awards. Along with this he is a bright film actor too. So I hope now our Dexter show has more chances to become an Emmy award nominee or let’s hope for more, may be the winner of the award for its new season. We will be able to catch the thrill in this fall.

So, Dexter season 2 ends here. Dexter is such a terrific show but series finale was not that terrific. I think that it could have been better.

Dramatically, there was a pretty dissatisfactory turn of events. I started watching this episode assuming that Doakes will die. And, I was right, why, you can understand if you’ve watched previous episode from series. It was impossible to run series with him alive.

For me, the best scene on the episode was when Dexter shows up at Lila’s to kill her, only for Deb to arrive at the same time. Lila starts discovering what has been happening and is just about to open Dexter’s bag of murder weapons in front of Deb. Oh! That scene was really full of suspense. I was sure at that time that before series ends, Deb would find out the reality about her brother.

That’s not what happened however, as Lila left, only to kidnap Astor and Cody, after confirming Dexter’s intentions towards her. Dexter comes to their rescue, Lila sets her loft on fire to burn them all inside. Dexter plays a hero and saves them. It was disheartening to see needy Deb as she kept trying to force a relationship with Lundy. Episode ends with Rita who seems cool with her kids and realizes that it’s right time for her to freak. Astor and Cody sure were in good spirits considering they just went through an experience that should have left them in therapy for years. Meanwhile download the earlier season here.

So, this was the season’s finale. Waiting for 3^rd season. It’s not declared yet. But I am sure that there is going to be season 3 which will deal with all issues left unsolved during season 2 and I’m curious to see what happens next to Miami’s most prolific serial killer.

Guys! A little rumor is making rounds of the Hollywood.

Michael C. Hall stars in Dexter a hit series, as Dexter, the forensic expert, which has recently completed its season 2 on Showtime network. Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan) is playing his sister who’s a homicide detective.

On screen they are playing Brother and sister but something quite different is there off-screen. The couple is said to have been dating for around four months. And, it looks that they’re trying to keep it as a secret as Michael is already married and his divorce case filed against his wife is still pending. Last week, the couple was recognized at the Sunset Tower Hotel after the news that Dexter is honored with Pea body awards. Sources say, “It was Romantic. They were drinking Champagne and were clearly celebrating”.

Peabody Awards are the prestigious awards for excellence in broadcasting-next to EMMY awards.

The 67^th Annual Peabody award winners were announced on April 2, 2008 and the list contains the name of our favorite TV show Dexter. Well download now all of its episodes if you won’t have them alraedy!

Peabody board is a part of University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and the winners will receive awards on June 16 a luncheon at New York’s Waldorf Astoria hotel. And, Brian Williams will host the Awards ceremony. Last year winners include ‘The Office’ and ‘Friday Night Lights’. Why Dexter this time? It is because of series’ complex and ambiguous meditation on morality. Other winners include: ‘30 Rock’, ‘The Colbert Report’ ‘Mad Men’, and ‘Project Runway’ etc.

Marc Echo Entertainment is the game and television arm which was founded in Feb, 2007. Marc Fernandez, VP of Marc Echo Entertainment said, “Our game designers, writers and artists are going to give Dexter’s morally complex world the kind of interactivity that gamers will love”. Len Fogge, Executive VP, Marketing at Show Networks said “Dexter is one of the most popular shows on show time with a particularly strong fan base among gamers.”
